Research at ReefHQ
ReefHQ Aquarium is the National Education Centre for the Great Barrier Reef, with over 120,000 visitors annually. Our mandate is to educate and inspire the community on the value of the Great Barrier Reef and inform the community about the pressures that the Great Barrier Reef faces, including Climate Change. Promoting and supporting marine science, the diversity and complexity of the the Great Barrier Reef and its inhabitants are part of the everyday operations at ReefHQ.
We aim to make a real contribution to high quality scientific research output and are in an ideal position to collaborate and support academic and scientific institutions, and industry partners undertaking corporate research and development. This helps to provide a sustainable platform for ReefHQ Aquarium, contributes to our knowledge of the Great Barrier Reef, and makes science and innovation accessible to the community. Ultimately it contributes to better protection and conservation of the Great Barrier Reef.
