The Reef HQ Aquarium Turtle Hospital provides a dedicated facility where sick and injured marine turtles can be cared for and rehabilitated. The hospital operates under, and promotes the C.A.R.E (Conserve. Act. Rehabilitate. Educate) philosophy, playing a key role in raising community awareness in relation to threatened species & encouraging behavioural change that contributes to nature conservation.
At Reef HQ we want to make sure that our impact on the environment is kept to a minimum. We use a great deal of energy in our day to day activities so it was a logical step for us to try and minimise on our energy footprint.
One of the objectives of Reef HQ Aquarium is to contribute to scientific research. Thanks to its large marine tanks, it is in an ideal position to support research institutions and industry partners in their projects.
Reef HQ Aquarium offers a Curatorial and Research Internship position to suitably qualified and motivated applicants twice a year. This six-month program is designed for individuals intending a professional or technical career in aquaria, aquaculture, or closely related fields. Successful applicants acquire hands-on experience in areas of laboratory operations, water quality analysis, aquarium maintenance, animal nutrition & observation, general husbandry techniques, record keeping, quarantine and handling protocols.
