Reef HQ Aquarium has received funding from the Australian Government to upgrade the 34-year-old facility and closed on February 1st, 2021 to complete the works.

Early Works Program
• The early works encompass a number of projects with the primary focus on resolving critical safety issues. The early works projects have been completed, with Reef HQ Aquarium ready to hand over to a Principal Contractor.
Life Support System Upgrades
Reef HQ Aquarium received $2.6million in funding to upgrade life support systems, which maintain optimum conditions for the corals and animals.
